Ansel Adams was a very famous photographer, environmentalist and musician. He was born on February 20, 1902 and died on April 22, 1984. When he was young, he was moved from school to school due to the fact that no school allowed him to be successful because he might have been hyperactive and dyslexic. As a result, he was tutored by his aunt and father until he had success at Mrs. Kate M. Wilkins Private School. It was at the private school that he was finally able to earn a "legitimized diploma." Once Ansel reached the age of twelve, he decided to tech himself how to read music and how to play the piano. As a result, he started to take lessons. Playing the piano became his passion, and he decided that he wanted to play the piano as a career. After about twelve years, he decided that he wanted to start photography, and he pretty much gave up his passion of music. In 1927, Ansel made his first fully visible photograph called the Face of Half Dome. Becoming a photographer allowed Ansel to also enjoy his love of nature. His photographs are often of landscapes that he saw while enjoying the wilderness. Ansel is one of the last traditional photographers from the nineteenth century. I chose this photo by Ansel Adams because I visited the Grand Canyon about 6 years ago, and it took me back to not having a care in the world and enjoying the time I spent there with my family. It also took me back to all the heartbreak I suffered that week that I visited Arizona for spring break.Just in case you didn't catch it:
3 facts: He was hyperactive and dyslexic, loved nature, and is one of the last traditional photographers from the nineteenth century.
